Concert, Solstice Sackbuts, Old Brass Instruments
The Music Committee of the Friends of the Library is presenting a most unusual concert. A group called the Solstice Sackbuts, consisting of three people who play sackbuts, which are old brass instruments, will take us on a musical tour through medieval and Renaissance music as well as classical music, pop, and jazz. The three performers, David Lindsey, Alan Johnson, and Leslie Havens, perform frequently with the group Quintessential Brass as well as with numerous symphony orchestras and jazz groups in New England and New York City. This concert is supported in part by the Weston Cultural Council which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The concert lasts one hour and is followed by a reception to meet the artists. The concert is free and open to the public and the Community Room is handicapped accessible.
