Final Stormwater Regulation Presentation to Selectman at 7:45 Tuesday April 12th at Town Hall. Please Plan to attend

On April 12, 2011 at 7:45 pm,  The Weston Stormwater Working Group will be presenting the proposed By-Law at the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing.

In May, Weston residents will be asked to adopt a Stormwater By-Law at Town Meeting.  The goal of the By-law is to ensure that development, redevelopment, and land disturbance activities do not increase stormwater runoff.  Regulating stormwater protects abutting wetlands, properties, and homeowners from the likelihood of experiencing increased flooding problems and erosion from nearby construction sites.

Your attendance and voice at this meeting is extremely important. This will be the last chance to get any language changes in the proposal before it goes to print into the warrant for town meeting. These proposals will cost Weston Residents a lot of money and a lot of time and hassle. Come learn how property owners will be impacted. The by-law is written very strictly and should be relaxed.

NATIONAL TAKE-BACK INITIATIVE II
Weston Police Department
180 Boston Post Road By-pass
Weston, MA 02493

This program is for Weston residents only

On April 30, 2011, the DEA will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. The National Take-Back Day provides an opportunity for the public to dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for appropriate destruction.

These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety. This one-day effort is intended to bring national focus to the issue of increasing pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.

● The program is anonymous.
● Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules accepted.
● Intra-venous solutions, injectables, and needles will not be accepted.
● Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative.
