Biagio – Waltham Riverview Italian

The nicest river-view dining in Waltham, Biagio is at 123 Moo

dy Street.

Getting to eat on the deck looked difficult at first, but we went upstairs to the nearly-empty indoor bar and got on the list. Within about five minutes they found a spot for us outside, crowded towards the wall at a tiny table with no view squeezed up next to some cigar smokers. Luckily, within a minute or two we were able to move to a better table when it opened up – in fact the best table in the house, right on the corner with a great view of the river and of the sun setting over Lyman Hill.

I got started with a glass of the red sangria, which was quite tasty and had a bit of fizz to it.

I’m not sure what was nicer- the watermelon salad, or the sunset.

I got the Arancini (fried spinach and mushroom risotto balls with marinara sauce) appetizer for my main course – while she tried the special, which was an asian-style lo mein with vegetables with sushi-grade salmon on top. Our waiter, Rett, was excellent. The food was good, the drinks were good, and the view was great. With a 20% tip and four drinks our total was about $110. This place definitely has the best river-view dining in Waltham, I would recommend giving it a try.
